Smiles for Everyone Foundation is excited to announce the 2018 International Outpost Team visiting Paraguay in July!
In December 2011, SEAL Team One (Service Expedition Accelerating Leaders) embarked on the Smiles for Everyone Foundation’s very first international dental mission trip to Paraguay. The team, comprised of Smile Brands affiliated dentists and support staff, donated their time and skills to provide dental care at orphanages and nutrition centers in the Asunción area. During this week-long trip, over 300 people, primarily underprivileged children, received much needed dental treatment and our first International Outpost was established.
Since then, the Smiles for Everyone Foundation and its Paraguay International Ambassadors have continued to support the Outpost by providing strategic guidance and grants to conduct year-round dental outreaches. The International Ambassadors have also revisited the Outpost to strengthen partnerships and conduct outreaches in the area.
One in three individuals in Paraguay live in poverty, and their main focus is to put food on their family’s table. Because of this, dental needs take a much lower priority, leaving teeth untreated, causing decay. In July 2018, Smiles for Everyone Foundation will be sending a team to the Paraguay International Outpost to help alleviate just one struggle that these individuals face, by delivering Smiles to those in need in the community.
