The local Paraguay International Outpost Team continues to deliver Smiles to those in need during their monthly clinics and through their network of Providers.
In May, the Team hosted a free dental clinic for the native tribes at the Puerto Barra Indigenous Reserve. This town once had a dental clinic that was established and run through government donations. Due to major changes in government leadership, the clinic stopped being supported and has barely been able to provide services. Our Team’s visit was crucial to addressing the oral health needs of the community.
Testimony:
“I feel very privileged to contribute my knowledge and abilities to help vulnerable people like Abraham and his mother, Rafaela, who works hard to raise her 7 children alone. Abraham and Rafaela received treatment through the network of dentists from Smiles for Everyone Foundation when they visited Rafaela’s trust group. These types of treatment help give these people their health, dignity and hope.” – Dr. Yamilet Torres Garcia
Between the outreaches and the services provided by the network of Providers, 258 patients received care in April and May.
We want to thank Dr. Yamilet Torres, Dr. Gabriela Garcete, Dr. Nimia Ojeda, Dr. Claudio Gonzalez and all the other doctors who are part of the network for opening their clinics weekly to provide services to those in need. This has greatly helped patients receive vital dental care who are unable to make it out to the Team’s large-scale clinics.
