Monarch Dental® Hosts Free Clinic in West Valley, Utah
Last Saturday, volunteers from Monarch Dental joined forces to host the state of Utah’s very first Day of Giving with the Smiles for Everyone Foundation.
Nearly 90 underserved patients were welcomed to the West Valley office to receive free x-rays, cleanings, fillings, extractions and more. Many of these individuals were referred to the Day of Giving by local nonprofit organizations, such as House of Hope, a rehabilitation center for women; The Road Home, a local homeless shelter; and Crossroads Urban Center, an organization with a goal to fight poverty.
The West Valley volunteers went above and beyond to work as a strong Team and serve their community. They made it their mission to deliver smiles to each patient, four of whom were nominated to participate in the Smiles for Everyone Foundation’s Smile Makeover program for more extensive treatment. But more importantly, they provided underinsured members of their community with the opportunity to finally receive the care they needed.
“A huge thank you, especially for my wife,” exclaimed patient Ed C. “She had been feeling pain for months, and it hurt me a lot because I couldn’t afford treatment. Every time she cried, I cried with her,” continued Ed. “But now we will smile together.”
The Smiles for Everyone Foundation would like to thank each of the volunteers, including Dr. Robert Chidester, Dr. Mark Lewis, Dr. John Reschke, Dr. Gregory Smith, and Dr. Jeff Osguthorpe. It was with their help that the Foundation was able to deliver nearly $50,000 of donated dentistry for the first time in Utah!
The next Day of Giving that the Foundation is hosting will be at Bright Now! ® Dental in Eastvale, CA on September 15th. Please visit www.smilesforeveryone.org for more information.
