“Thank you so much for doing what you do. Sometimes life just happens and you no longer have the things you were used to,” says patient Ana T.

This past Saturday volunteers across Castle Dental® offices in the Houston and Pasadena area gathered together at the Castle Dental office on Fairmont Parkway for a Day of Giving. Dental services provided included x-rays and exams, fillings, extractions, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants.

In the morning, volunteers saw patients from Today’s Harbor for Children, a children’s shelter that has been serving the Houston community for over 70 years and houses up to 64 children in its 8 cottages. To make the dental experience a bit more fun for the children, the Smiles for Everyone Foundation and its volunteers set up a bounce-house in the back lot of the dental office and provided cowboy-themed toys and decorations.

The Smiles for Everyone Foundation also partnered with other local nonprofit organizations to refer individuals in need to the dental clinic in the afternoon. These organizations include Project Joy and Hope, a support services organizations for families with children with illnesses; Sarah’s House, a homeless shelter for women and children; and North Pasadena Community Center, among others. Overall, the volunteers were able to provide care for over 60 patients, and delivered nearly $35,000 in donated dentistry.

Since 2011, Smiles for Everyone Foundation has provided dental care to over 16,000 individuals in need around the world, totaling over $12 million in donated dentistry. The next Day of Giving will be held at Bright Now! Dental in Modesto, CA on August 12, 2018. Please visit the Foundation’s website for more upcoming events and programs.
