A confidence boost, flossing lesson and a deep appreciation for cleaning. That’s exactly what the Bright Now!® Dental team in Mission Viejo gave a recent patient, Nicole Pelletier, by participating in the Community Smile Project.

For Nicole, dental care was not only necessary for her self-esteem, it was critical to her treatment for a brain tumor. “She needed to have dental care completed prior to beginning chemotherapy and could not afford it,” says Office Manager Rhonda Lundberg.

“When we first told Nicole that she was selected as our Smiles for Everyone Foundation Community Smile Project patient, she started crying,” recalls Lead Dentist Dr. Ngoc Tran, who treated Nicole.

Although embarrassed to smile before her treatment, afterwards Nicole emerged self-assured about visiting the dentist in the future. She was also pleased with the care she received from Dr. Tran and his team. “Everyone was so kind and did a remarkable job,” says Nicole.

Adds Dr. Tran, “It was a great experience to help a person who was really in need of treatment.”

Although the Smiles for Everyone Foundation was established to change the lives of patients around the world through dental care, it also has a profound impact on the professionals who perform the smile-and-life-changing treatments.

Says Rhonda, “Dr. Tran and the team appreciate the resources the SFE Foundation makes available to help patients in need in our community.”

When a deserving patient receives quality dental care, that’s something everyone can smile about.
