Patient Asif Khan underwent multiple dental treatments as a precursor to donating his kidney to his grandmother – and he couldn’t be happier!
“He came to the United States solely to help his grandmother,” prefaces Office Manager Loren Rodriguez, as she tells the story of patient Asif Khan, who recently received complimentary dental treatment through our Smile Makeover program.
“Asif came from India so he could donate his kidney to his grandmother. In the states, he has financial difficulties, especially with no insurance and limited family members,” Loren explains. “To proceed with the surgery, he needed a full dental clearance – eight fillings, extractions and a gingivitis treatment. Only then would he be able to move forward with the donation.”
That’s when Loren and the Castle Dental – Lakeline Team in Austin, TX stepped in to help. Loren says, “At the end of his treatments, Asif was so thankful, and even happier he could proceed with donating his kidney to his beloved grandmother. He was very sweet and soft-spoken and didn’t say much, but he definitely left the office with a huge smile!”
